The design release engineer is responsible for the design, development and release of components and subsystems in body in white upper upperbody and underbody.
responsibilities:
- design, specify, test, validate and publish parts for assigned vehicle families; analyze and resolve failures produced by parts; propose, validate and obtain cost reductions inherent to these components.
- perform changes or modifications to component parts of assigned vehicle families
- request and authorize required tests to systems, parts and components of assigned vehicle families to validate that they comply with design requirements.
- elaborate and evaluate assembly and operation tests of parts in the assembly plants before their incorporation to vehicle production (production evaluation request).
- determine and issue temporary or final approvals to part validations of assigned vehicle families.
- analyze and resolve malfunctions and durability failures of parts in units of assigned vehicle families.
- develop parts with suppliers according to the "source package" process.
- support to assembly and manufacturing plants in the use and application of specifications and designs to the latest engineering change.
- standardize components and benchmark (performance, weight, cost efficiency).

- approve or reject requests for temporary or definitive deviations to the product.
- request manufacture of prototypes and batches of parts to solve warranty problems.
- propose and/or elaborate cost reductions (tcr/vo).
- perform product change notifications (cn's).- verify product manufacturing process prior to parts production.
- obtaining product change information, obtaining product change implementation dates, technical service bulletins and/or campaigns, obtaining product engineering standards, parts lists and engineering charts.
- coordinate dfmeas and pfmeas with suppliers.
- support piloting phases in assembly plants.
- responsible for designing parts in nx (3d & 2d).
requirements:
-bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, electro-mechanical, metallurgical, aerospace or related).
-1-8 years of experience in the design of stamped components.
-advanced conversational english
-cad software proficiency (nx, catia, creo)
