*position overview*
we are seeking an entry-level accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations for our mexico plant.
this role will focus on transactional accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reporting, and reconciliations) while also providing opportunities to assist with month-end close, reporting, and audit preparation.
*key responsibilities*
transactional accounting
- process and record accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- maintain accounts receivable records, prepare customer statements, and support collections follow-up.
- review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- prepare and reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card statements.
- record general ledger journal entries in epicor erp.
month-end close & reporting
- assist in monthly closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- support preparation of internal reports for u.s. and canada sg&a entities.
- provide documentation and analysis for internal and external audits.
process & compliance
- ensure transactions are compliant with internal controls, accounting policies, and company procedures.
- maintain organized financial records and support the finance manager with ad-hoc projects.
- identify opportunities to improve efficiency in accounting processes.
*qualifications*
- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 0-2 years of accounting experience (internships or entry-level roles welcome).
- knowledge of basic accounting principles (gaap/ifrs exposure a plus).
- strong excel skills; experience with epicor erp or other erp systems preferred.
- detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- strong communication skills; english and spanish proficiency preferred.
