responsible for leading, coordinating, and ensuring full plant compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental (ehs) legal requirements.
serves as the primary liaison with government authorities and drives continuous improvement through iso * and iso * management systems, ensuring a safe work environment aligned with honeywell corporate standards and plant policies.
responsibilities
lead implementation and compliance with mexican regulations (noms), corporate standards, and plant procedures related to ehs, including coordination of internal audits, corrective action plans, and closure follow‐up.
ensure validity and renewal of permits, licenses, and authorizations with federal, state, and local agencies (semarnat, profepa, stps, jmas, civil protection, sedue, etc.).
maintain comprehensive document control of permits, reports, studies, and legal requirements (current and historical) to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
lead the site energy committee, driving initiatives to optimize energy consumption and improve energy performance indicators; provide reporting to leadership and corporate teams.
monitor solar panel system performance and integrate results into monthly reporting to ensure proper operation.
maintain and continuously improve iso * and iso * management systems and corporate equivalents, reporting performance, highlighting critical risks, and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
oversee the preparation and timely submission of regulatory reports such as coa, pipc, recycling/return notices, fre reports, hazardous waste generator registrations, wastewater discharge, emissions control, and others.
partner with npi and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure safe transfer of new processes and technologies through ehs validation and environmental compliance.
coordinate the energy team to ensure adherence to energy policy, kpi tracking, and achievement of honeywell energy‐saving targets.
manage hazardous, special, and non‐hazardous waste programs, ensuring full traceability from generation to final disposal and full regulatory compliance.
lead preparation, execution, and closure of iso *, iso *, grc, and corporate audits; ensure implementation of preventive and corrective actions to avoid recurrence.
develop sustainability and environmental improvement plans focused on reducing carbon footprint, water consumption, and waste generation.
ensure third‐party providers performing tests, inspections, and ehs measurements meet technical and legal requirements, including equipment calibration compliance.
required qualifications
bachelor's degree (completed).
5 years of experience in a similar role within immex manufacturing environment.
minimum 3 years of experience managing ehs legal compliance, permits, and government inspections.
experience in energy management, including identification of significant energy uses and interpretation of energy performance indicators.
minimum 3 years of experience supporting new product introduction (npi).
proven experience managing environmental, energy, and risk mitigation projects.
advanced english proficiency.
strong knowledge of mexican ehs regulations, including noms, lgeepa, lgpgir, and their regulations.
certified or experienced iso * / iso * auditor.
project management and cross‐functional team leadership experience.
expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and implementation of ehs controls.
knowledge of machinery and equipment safety standards.
preferred qualifications
strong understanding of local energy regulations and sustainability practices.
ability to interpret industrial hygiene studies (physical, chemical, electrical agents) and define effective control measures.
leadership in driving continuous improvement and safety culture across all organizational levels.
strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
