*tasks and responsibilities*
- strategic environmental management: develop and implement comprehensive environmental strategies that align with corporate sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
- wastewater treatment oversight: lead the operations of wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with environmental standards.
- waste management leadership: oversee waste management programs, driving initiatives for waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable disposal practices.
- regulatory compliance: ensure adherence to all relevant environmental regulations (iso 14001, local laws) through regular audits, inspections, and reporting. Manage legal and regulatory compliance related to environmental operations.
- sustainability initiatives: champion sustainability projects aimed at reducing the organization’s environmental footprint, including energy efficiency and resource conservation programs.
- team development and training: act as a mentor and coach for the environmental team, developing training programs that enhance technical knowledge and promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.- stakeholder engagement: serve as the primary contact for local authorities, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders on environmental matters, fostering positive relationships and open communication.- support planning, execution and control of opex to maintain and improve the financial excellence and competitiveness of the site, by defining jointly with other functions annual priorities, schedules and detailed opex-plan for the next forecast.
- support product supply system (pss) implementation and other continuous improvement initiatives, reaching process efficiency, safety and optimize costs, by promoting the use of all lean six sigma tools and being supportive to reach the pss target each year. This includes know policies of integrated management system (sig), collaborating to implement and maintain operational controls and follow up and comply organizational goals.
*who you are*
- bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
- minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in environmental management or engineering, with a proven track record in leading environmental operations and initiatives.
- leadership skills: strong leadership capabilities with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
- technical expertise: in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, waste management practices, and wastewater treatment technologies.
- communication skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- fluent in english: proficiency in english is required.
- desirable special knowledge: iso-9001, iso-14001, iso-45001, good manufacturing practices (gmp’s), a3, capa, ishikawa, environmental regulations.
