We are seeking an experienced senior cutting engineer to join our growing automotive manufacturing team. This role is responsible for leading cutting operations, optimizing material utilization, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, productivity, and efficiency within the cutting process.
key responsibilities:
* lead and optimize cutting operations for automotive textile, leather, and trim components.
* develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce material waste.
* analyze cutting efficiency, yield performance, and production capacity.
* support new product launches and coordinate cutting process readiness.
* collaborate closely with production, quality, engineering, planning, and maintenance teams.
* ensure compliance with customer specifications and automotive industry standards.
* drive problem-solving activities using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
* monitor kpis related to quality, efficiency, scrap reduction, and on-time delivery.
* provide technical guidance and training to cutting supervisors and team members.
* support pfmea, control plans, apqp activities, and process validations.
qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
* minimum 5 years of experience in cutting processes within the automotive industry.
* strong knowledge of textile, leather, synthetic materials, and automated cutting systems.
* experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
* knowledge of apqp, ppap, pfmea, control plans, and customer-specific requirements.
* advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
* strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional teamwork abilities.
