position overviewour client is seeking a technical sales & country operations manager to establish and grow their presence in mexico.
this individual will be the first local hire and will play a critical role in building the mexican market through hands‐on technical sales leadership while also managing light operational responsibilities for a small local office.
this is a hands‐on, entrepreneurial role suited for an experienced technical sales professional who is comfortable operating independently, building a territory from the ground up, and serving as the primary local representative for our client in mexico.key responsibilitieslead all sales activities for the client in mexicodevelop and manage relationships with oems, tier 1/tier 2 manufacturers and industrial plants and end usersprovide technical guidance and application support for spray nozzles, tank mixing eductors, and air atomizerssupport customer projects from specification through implementationtrack market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirementsdrive revenue growth and expansion from an established but underdeveloped territorycountry & office operations (light scope)support the establishment and ongoing operation of a small mexico officeact as the primary local point of contact between mexico customers and the client's headquartersoversee basic administrative and order‐processing activitiescoordinate with hq on forecasting, pricing, inventory planning and logistics and customer supportassist with hiring and onboarding of limited local support staff (e.g., order desk role; potential future salesperson)ensure smooth day‐to‐day operations without managing a large team or full p&lrequired experience & qualifications5+ years of experience in technical or industrial sales (e.g., spray systems, pumps, valves, fluid handling, process equipment, instrumentation, automation)proven ability to grow a territory or launch a new marketstrong experience selling to industrial customers, including: automotive manufacturing, chemical processing, food & beverage, pharmaceutical/packaging and general manufacturingexperience working with distributors or manufacturer's repsability to explain technical concepts clearly to engineers, maintenance teams, and plant managersfluent in spanish and englishwillingness to travel domestically within mexico for customer visitspreferred: background engineering degree (mechanical, chemical, industrial, mechatronics, or related)prior experience with or exposure to competitors such as ssco, bete, pnr, or similar industrial component manufacturersexisting network of contacts in mexican manufacturing and industrial marketsfamiliarity with automated or high-volume manufacturing environmentskey attributes & soft skillsstrong consultative selling approachhighly organized and self‐directedcomfortable operating independently with limited local infrastructureproblem‐solver who can support customers on‐site when requiredentrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build systems and relationships from the ground upcompensation & benefitsperformance‐based commission: additional variable compensation tied to sales growth and new account acquisitiontravel expenses: covered for customer visits across mexicogrowth opportunity: compensation and role scope may expand as the mexican business growswhy joinestablished global manufacturer with operations in canada, the united states, and germany.
