Role summarydistrict business leader – southern california. Reporting to the senior regional director, the district business leader (dbl) will be responsible for achieving business objectives by leading a team of territory business managers in the successful promotion of aristada, lybalvi, and future neuroscience pipeline products and services. This will be accomplished by leading, coaching and developing a diverse, high-performing sales team to exceed sales goals within an assigned geographic area. Key attributes include the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing, results-oriented team, possess a strategic perspective on managing business opportunities and, as needed, execute efficient performance management practices. The dbl will provide clear direction and coaching, work collaboratively in the field with the sales team to assist in identifying needs and opportunities and, as needed, execute successful sales meetings. In addition, the dbl will establish high work standards and assure that the team works in accordance with all company policies.responsibilitiesplay a key role in identifying, recruiting, coaching and retaining top talent for the alkermes sales organizationplan, direct, implement, and oversee policies and activities for territory business managers for a specific geographical areadevelop a deep understanding of assigned district-level geography, including patterns of care, major payers and public policy initiativesexecute sales force strategies and marketing plans effectively to meet or exceed sales objectivesfoster innovation in sales approaches and practices and ensure effective cross-functional leadership and collaboration with managed markets and state government affairs counterpartsidentify district-level specific opportunities and barriers to ensure company successexercise sound judgment and ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communicationsreview and analyze key reports to ensure quarterly and annual objectives are metmanage district-level expensescounsel, motivate, and coach tbmsensure cross-functional alignment of key strategies and tactics, and ensure effective communication and implementation at the territory levelprovide assistance with training as neededensure reinforcement and compliance with alkermes policies and reinforce alkermes sales force guiding principlesqualificationsrequired: ba/bs is requiredrequired: 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experiencerequired: must live within the geography of responsibilityrequired: driver's license must be in good standingrequired: must be able to demonstrate or secure appropriate credentialing, as may be required by healthcare providers for physical access to their facilitiespreferred: demonstrated track record of successfully building sales teams along with coaching and developing sales professionalspreferred: 7+ years of sales experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals industrypreferred: proven sales performance as evidenced by % to quota, ranking reports, and recognition awards in specialty pharma marketspreferred: in-depth understanding of reimbursement/insurance coverage for physician-administered treatmentspreferred: strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environmentspreferred: demonstrated ability to work cross-functionallypreferred: strong verbal and written communication skillspreferred: high ethical standardspreferred: advanced business degree a pluspreferred: portfolio coaching experience for products treating schizophrenia, bipolar and severe depressionpreferred: proven launch experience leading others in highly complicated and competitive environmentspreferred: experience selling and coaching specialty products, in-particular injectables administered in a mental healthcare settingpreferred: demonstrated passion for improving cns/mental health patient carepreferred: entrepreneurial attitude and/or experience in a start-up environmentpreferred: ability to work autonomously to find new business opportunitiespreferred: ability to travel up to 30-50%additional requirementstravel up to 30-50%
