*position overview*:
the *production planner*will be responsible for managing production schedules and workflows in alignment with customer demand, resource availability, and operational capacity. This role ensures efficient production processes and on-time delivery within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The planner will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and logistics, to meet quality and efficiency targets.
*responsibilities*:
*production scheduling*:
- develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
- adjust schedules proactively in response to changes in demand, material availability, and production constraints.
- monitor and optimize the use of production capacity to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
*inventory management*:
- coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
- monitor inventory levels of finished goods to avoid overproduction or stockouts.
- conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts.
- implement just-in-time (jit) inventory practices to reduce waste.
*performance monitoring*:
- track key performance indicators (kpis) such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, inventory days-on-hand, and inventory turnover.
- analyze production data and identify areas for improvement.
- prepare reports and presentations for management on production performance.
*compliance and standards*:
- ensure production planning aligns with industry standards and customer specifications.
- support quality assurance initiatives and compliance with iso and/or iatf certifications as required by the automotive industry.
*requirements*:
- bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
- minimum 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- proficiency in erp/mrp systems (epicor, sap, oracle) and ms office suite (especially excel).
- strong knowledge of production workflows and inventory management practices.
- certification in supply chain management (e.g., apics, cscp).
- familiarity with automotive industry standards (e.g., iatf 16949).
- excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- *proficiency in spanish and english languages (written and verbal).*
