Capital asset manager job description
oversees financial reporting and accounting for capital assets. This role involves managing asset lifecycle records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and optimizing asset utilization through strategic financial analysis.
key responsibilities include:
* strategic asset management: oversee the lifecycle of capital assets from acquisition to retirement, design strategies for procurement, utilization, and inventory control, lead inspections and asset tagging for effective tracking, produce monthly statements and leadership reports aligned with gaap/ifrs, partner with leadership to ensure budget alignment and regulatory compliance.
* capital asset accounting: maintain records of depreciation, asset valuations, and disposals, lead oracle fixed asset module implementation across north america, develop policies and process improvements.
* budgeting & analysis: analyze capex trends for planning and roi optimization, support financial modeling and investment performance review, manage and mentor finance professionals, collaborate with senior leaders to align strategy and execution.
requirements:
* 8-9 years in financial planning or capital asset management
* 5+ years of direct experience in asset accounting or controls
* strong command of gaap/ifrs, financial modeling, and strategic thinking
* advanced excel and working knowledge of oracle or sap
* cpa and/or mba preferred
