inviting applications for the role of management trainee, indirect sourcing!
as a sourcing buyer, you will manage the end-to-end sourcing projects. Your focus should be on ensuring delivery of sourcing projects to the client with maximum value addition in terms of savings/benefits to the client.
location: zapopan, jalisco, mexico.
responsibilities
* procure goods and services, obtain quotations, develop proposals and/or negotiate contracts of low to moderate value/risk consistent with client requirements.
* good understanding and experience on rfp / rfx / rfq with formal erp / procurement tool-based sourcing. Understanding of online auctions is mandatory.
* understanding of upstream and downstream sourcing process, namely s2p and p2p process.
* manage proactive engagements for operational planned spend opportunities within defined spend levels.
* manage transactional buying desk activities and support wider category management including raising purchase orders.
* quotation analysis and recommendations, and assessment of supplier suitability and reliability to meet operational requirements and as per client procurement policy/sourcing guidelines.
* negotiate with suppliers on both commercial and non-commercial clauses as per guidance.
* obtain approval from client category manager on finalized projects.
* support drafting of contracts as per client and senior buyer instructions.
* record savings in the client savings data base.
* engage with operational teams to review pipeline and track savings opportunities.
* work closely with category managers and business units to establish and deliver procurement requirements, strategic benefits and compliance with existing procurement contracts.
* effectively manage internal and external customers and stakeholders.
* assume additional responsibilities as assigned with the procurement remit (e.g., analysis, reporting).
* develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and pursue continuous improvement.
* act as a single point of contact to the business requestor for the sourcing projects under direct management.
* knowledge of data analytics, processing and reporting with excel dashboards, macros or pivots, or tableau or power bi.
minimum qualifications
* hands-on experience with coupa (preferred) / ariba or similar procurement/crm tools.
* proficient in microsoft office, especially excel, powerpoint, and word.
* any sourcing or project management certification/course is a plus.
* us or mx sourcing experience preferred.
* bachelor’s degree in any field; technical qualifications preferred.
