Job requirements identifying new technologies and processes to increase efficiency; consulting on the selection and implementation of automation and robotics on the assembly line. Reviewing and updating manufacturing processes and policies as per compliance and industry standard. Designing and implementing processes for manufacturing equipment selection; identifying optimal tools for machines. Establishing control charting of complex features and processes; monitoring results and determining machine capabilities, process capabilities, and performance reliability. What your background should look like education and experience requirements 5 to 8 years of experience in design automation systems integrated into cable production machines, ensuring that all parts and components are compatible with each other and meet operational requirements. Advanced knowledge in the use of sap and microsoft office. Good project management skill: ability to work on several projects at once. Create competitive strategies and plans. Experience at solving problems for process and designs. Interpersonal skills, communication and ability to multitask. Essential job duties and responsibilities npi & early lifecycle engineering (primary ownership) provide deep technical guidance on pcb fabrication, pcba assembly, and smt processes for all new products introduced at the site. Review design packages from product/r&d teams for dfm and process risk identification. Evaluate pcb stack-ups, material selection, controlled impedance structures, surface finishes, and smt component risks that could impact assembly processes or hs signal performance. Approve pcb/a supplier process readiness for pre-production builds (evt/dvt/pvt). Support mpde engineers during pilot runs, ensuring pcb/a related issues are rapidly identified and corrected. Supplier qualification, technical assessment & cost optimization lead technical qualification of pcb and pcba suppliers in collaboration with sourcing/procurement, supplier quality, and mpde. Conduct technical audits covering process controls, smt capability, laminate handling, plating, soldering processes, and ipc/j std compliance. Work closely with sourcing/buyers to evaluate new suppliers for cost reduction initiatives, dual sourcing strategy, and supply base strengthening. Evaluate and compare supplier cost structures driven by processes, materials, yields, and manufacturing technologies. Manufacturing support & sustaining engineering alignment act as the escalation technical expert for pcb/a issues affecting yield, assembly processes, or field returns during mass production. Work with manufacturing engineering to analyze recurring defects, process escapes, handling-related issues, or pcbas failures. Recommend process adjustments, inspection criteria improvements, or supplier procedural changes to prevent recurrence. Support transition/handoff of new products from mpde to sustaining. Quality assurance, supplier quality & compliance partner with qa/sqe to establish incoming inspection criteria, control plans, and acceptance standards for pcb/a materials. Provide expertise during supplier non-conformance investigations and scar closure. Ensure supplier conformity to applicable industry standards. Support quality during customer audits. Failure analysis & technical problem solving lead or support cross functional root cause investigations involving pcb/a-related defects.
