Regional process safety management engineer
this position is responsible for supporting nouryon’s production facilities in the americas by providing expertise in and assistance with compliance to nouryon’s global and regional psm requirements.

as a regional psm sme, you will support nouryon’s production facilities in the americas by providing expertise and assistance in compliance with global and regional psm requirements. Reporting to the regional psm manager, your focus will be on developing and implementing fit-for-purpose psm requirements, primarily at the mexico city site. Fluency in spanish and a passion for process safety are essential for this role.
in your future role as psm sme, you will:
* be a psm thought leader: analyze and improve regional psm requirements to ensure effective regulatory compliance.
* be a psm sme: know the global and regional psm requirements and assist your sites in achieving and maintaining compliance. Participate in audits as needed.
* share knowledge: develop and deliver training on psm requirements. Collaborate to recognize and resolve process safety issues.
* additional duties: identify opportunities for improvement in psm at regional sites and take action to address gaps.
we believe you bring:
* education & experience: b.s. in chemical or other engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in a chemical plant or similar environment, including experience in executing and implementing psm requirements.
* communication skills: strong ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in english and spanish.
* technical skills: experience with hazard assessments, moc’s, and technical safety programs. Ccps/sis accreditation is a plus.
* physical abilities: ability to work in plant environments, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and work at heights and in hot outdoor conditions.
* travel: up to 35% travel within the americas, with some trips to europe possible.
