lead a functional work team within accounts payable (ap) focused on the complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting transactions. Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and procedures.
Main accountabilities
- lead, motivate and develop the accounts payable team
- people manager, including staffing & selection, integration, facilitating technical/functional training, measuring individual and team performance, providing feedback, counselling and coaching as needed
- oversee a portion of the month end close process for the ap area.
Basic qualifications (mandatory)
- university degree in finance or equivalent gained thru working experience
- at least 7 years of experience in accounts receivable/accounting/payable and at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- thorough understanding of internal controls and accounts payable process
- ability to interact appropriately and effectively with internal customers and external partners (composure, conflict management, customer focus, negotiating)
- ability to lead and inspire the team toward higher level of performance
- advanced sap skills.
- bilingual skills (english & spanish).
