summary:
the position leads the team towards fulfillment of tax obligations for the legal entities existing on the cas region (colombia, costa rica, chile, peru, paraguay), as well as strong knowledge about mexican tax rules (income tax, vat and withholdings) and audit responses to the tax authorities; as well as creating and executing strategies in coordination with corporate tax group in order to generate tax efficiencies and improvements.
carry out tax compliance, controls, reports, and supervision on the correct determination of taxes, in accordance with the applicable fiscal laws, transfer pricing rules and contribute timely delivery of information to third parties (both to the tax authorities and to corporate). The tax manager will be responsible for responding to internal requirements and fiscal audits.

1. ensuring tax information is reasonable in the different cycles of the company and duly supported.
2. ensure compliance with tax obligations (main: payment of own and withholding taxes; advisory: declarations at the federal, state and municipal levels).
3. guide internal departments in the correct application of tax regulation.
4. be informed of regulatory changes, tax reforms and evaluate their potential impact on business operation.
5. ensuring tax control of fixed assets and other tax items that generate reconciliation items against accounting records, to determine the deferred tax asset or liability.
6. provide the information for the determination of transfer pricing studies between related companies.
7. ensuring the proper preparation of all taxes and statements applicable for the region.
8. ensuring correct and prompt response to all tax requirements from local authorities and/or corporate.
9. continuously implementing tax efficiencies and strategies to optimize tax impacts.
10. prepared and control budget for finance department.
11. apply best practices from the investigation of processes, concepts, executions, etc., that lead to the area by achieving the highest levels of effectiveness.
12. ensure monthly tax accounts reconciliation.
13. lead preparation and submitting reports to corporate such as thin cap calculation, annual cash taxes, hard close provision, tax audits updates and deferred taxes.
14. establish processes to minimize the amounts that force the company to assume non-deductible charges.
15. lead the implementation of new reports, process, controls, it 's developments or enhancements due to changes in tax legislation and fiscal process.
qualifications
education and experience
* accountant (cpa).
* specialization in taxes.
* at least 8 years of specific experience in taxes
* extensive and proven experience with routines of: fiscal closing, tax versus accounting conciliation, tax planning, credit collection, preparation of management reports.
* knowledge of fiscal matters in the country and within the countries and regions within its scope including tax withholding treatment.
* knowledge of transfer pricing rules
* previous experience in big 4 firms is desirable (deloitte, ey, kpmg, pwc) or a compliance and advisory firm.
* strong knowledge of direct and indirect taxes, withholding taxes from municipal, federal and local.
* prepare and execute sox controls.
* fluent in english.
