Material planner
location: mexico city. Department: manufacturing / logistics industry: automotive manufacturing
position objective
ensure the timely availability of materials through efficient supply chain planning, supporting uninterrupted plant operations and compliance with customer requirements.
key responsibilities
- analyze customer portals and generate accurate material forecasts - create purchase requisitions based on the master production schedule - monitor inventory levels, avoiding stockouts or excess inventory - coordinate deliveries with suppliers, sister plants, and internal teams - track material consumption and generate reports (kpis, in-transit status) - identify and manage obsolete or slow-moving materials
- education: bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain, or related fields - experience: minimum 3 years in materials planning or logistics (preferably in automotive or metal-mechanical industries) - technical skills: proficiency in erp systems, forecasting tools, and inventory control methods, mrp, excel. - soft skills: strong planning, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities - language: english fluency required (spoken and written)
