the manager is also responsible for working with cross-functional partners to strategize and execute pricing and promotions for the total company (us, ca, uk + ecom)responsibilities- provide instructions and support for administrative support team: monitor and assess individual work.
- provide feedback, coaching; support opportunities for development; complete performance appraisals; take corrective action when appropriate; and participate in hiring and retention decisions- oversee the work of merchandise administration assistants, including entry of new styles, purchase order process, and modification of new styles and purchase orders price adjustments.
key partner for merchants, planning, web operations and teams in strategizing the promotion and then ensuring execution with excellence.
owns the work of executing the promotions in the system and validation of those promotional or pricing changes- develop schedules for project completion that effectively allocate resources and review the project schedule with sr. management and other stakeholders, revising as needed and monitoring progress of the project to ensure timely and successful completion.
set up files to ensure all project information is documented and secure and manage the operational calendar to maintain on time deliverables related to monthly tasks, including coupon maintenance- participate in testing of new systems and communicate issues and enhancements to management team.
train merchandise operations team on the ongoing execution of new systems and processes, monitor workflow and provide statistical information to support headcount.
serve as a liaison between merchandise operations and key cross-functional partners.
- work with the buying and planning teams to understand and manage workload and provide updates and recaps with the director of merchandise operations.
attend and represent merchandise operation in cross functional meetings as assigned or when director, merchandise operations is not available.
- other duties & responsibilities: responsible for ad-hoc creation and distribution of reports on an "as needed" basis.
attend monthly meetings with cross-functional teams.
perform duties of merchandise administration assistants as needed.we seek qualifications in you!
minimum qualifications / skills- bachelor's degree in business, retail management, supply chain, operations, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- proven experience in retail and apparel operations, merchandising operations, buying support, planning support, or a similar administrative/operational function.
- must have experience leading teams, including coaching, performance management, and workflow supervision.
- prior experience working cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, e-commerce, or web operations teams.
- experience managing pricing, promotions, or item setup processes within a retail or multi-channel organization.
- experience supporting or managing system testing, process rollout, or operational calendar management.
- strong understanding of retail systems and item lifecycle processes (item setup, purchase orders, pricing updates, and promotion execution).
- demonstrated ability to manage complex operational schedules, deadlines, and large workloads.
- ability to create, interpret, and present reports related to workload, performance, and operational metrics.
- experience working with enterprise systems for item management, pricing, or promotions (e.g., rms, sap, oracle, or similar tools).
- ability to coach, motivate, and develop a team of administrative support staff.
- skilled in performance management, providing feedback, and handling corrective action when needed.
- ability to delegate, prioritize tasks, and manage workload distribution.technical skills- strong proficiency with microsoft office suite (excel, outlook, teams; powerpoint preferred).
-high attention to detail for validating pricing, promotions, and item setup accuracy.
- ability to monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
