manager, strategic sourcing – surface transportation (latam & caribbean)
requirements:
* bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field.
* advanced english proficiency (c1, c2) and full professional proficiency in spanish.
* portuguese is a plus.
* proven experience working in global companies.
* experience reporting to and negotiating with stakeholders outside of mexico.
* results-driven profile with a strong focus on cost savings and profitability.
* minimum of 8 years of experience managing teams in a manager-level role.
* location: mexico city, hybrid model
profile & responsibilities:
* direct the strategic sourcing lifecycle for the road transportation portfolio, providing executive oversight for first and last mile delivery, ltl, and ftl segments to ensure a resilient and cost-competitive carrier network across the lac region.
* establish governance and strategic frameworks for category management, ensuring your team effectively executes competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, and market analysis while driving standardization across the region.
* direct the team's overarching negotiation strategies, acting as an executive escalation point for complex, high-value vendor contracts and empowering team members to successfully drive critical commercial discussions.
* drive total cost of ownership (tco) improvements, ensuring consistent implementation of cost optimization initiatives across multi-country operations and diverse business units.
* lead, mentor, and develop a cross-country sourcing team, ensuring strong management practices, performance tracking, and continuous development of team members.
* coordinate and align the team around common objectives, ensuring all members are working toward shared goals and consistently achieving target results.
* bring proven experience in people management, with the ability to drive accountability, foster collaboration, and maintain high team engagement and performance.
* present sourcing strategies, performance results, and key initiatives to senior leadership and regional stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment at all levels.
* strengthen supplier relationships while driving effective stakeholder engagement across functions such as finance, operations, legal, and talent acquisition in a multi-country environment.
