Job title: turquoise hydrogen tester
we are hiring a junior test engineer to support the buildout, commissioning, and testing of a first-of-a-kind (foak) hydrogen production system using a proprietary pyrolysis process.
about the opportunity
this role is critical to our mission of scaling clean, low-cost hydrogen to support industrial decarbonization. As a junior test engineer, you will work alongside senior engineers and leadership to test and optimize the pilot and foak systems.
you'll be involved from permitting and construction through commissioning, testing, and continuous performance improvements. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of clean energy.
key responsibilities
* support testing and deployment of foak hydrogen systems at the pilot site in monterrey, mexico
* collaborate with epc partners and support permitting efforts
* generate process drawings (pfds, p&ids), technical documentation, and support equipment design
* conduct engineering analysis: mass/energy balances, safety system sizing, and process optimization
* contribute to ip development and support scale-up efforts (100x production)
* troubleshoot industrial systems, instrumentation, and combustion equipment
requirements
* bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, aeronautical, or similar field
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in thermal/chemical/industrial process environments (startups or consulting preferred)
* strong understanding of thermodynamics, combustion, and hydrogen/methane pyrolysis
* experience working on industrial-scale pyrolysis, gasification, or clean-tech systems
* ability to read/generate p&ids and cad drawings
* bonus: plc, dcs, or ni labview controls experience; high/low voltage background
travel
occasional travel, including to united states for training periods of two-weeks or longer
work environment
in-person work required at the monterrey, mexico site
