purpose of the role
as a commodity buyer at volvo buses, you will manage a portfolio of suppliers and segments, delivering to production sites regionally and globally. You will join a diverse team of motivated buyers, supplier quality engineers, and purchasing project managers. We look forward to sharing our expertise and learning from yours.
accountabilities
* establish sourcing strategies, including supplier risk assessment, in collaboration with other buyers, project managers, quality teams, and manufacturing.
* manage supplier selection, contract negotiations, supplier relationships, development, and risk assessments, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement at regional and global levels.
* contribute to new development projects and source components for production, working effectively in cross-functional teams.
* lead daily purchasing activities within your scope, ensuring supplier performance in quality and delivery, driving cost efficiency, and leading contract negotiations with relevant stakeholders.
