We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced financial controller to oversee all financial, tax, and compliance activities for our mexican entity. This role serves as the primary liaison with mexican tax authorities (sat) and is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all mexican accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements while supporting strategic business objectives.the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mexican reporting requirements and will bring a strong operational focus to managing vat compliance, accounts receivable, income tax reporting, and day-to-day financial operations. This position requires both technical expertise in mexican tax compliance and the ability to implement efficient, scalable processes that support our growing business.this position is currently a hybrid position that requires working on-site a minimum of 3 days per week at our santa fe, mexico city office.key responsibilities:vat and tax compliance prepare workpapers for monthly vat (iva) calculation, filing, and compliance, including proper documentation and cfdi requirements assist with mexico corporate income tax (isr) compliance, including monthly provisional filings and annual tax returns coordinate nfri (notificación de fiscal de residencia en el extranjero) and foreign investment reporting requirements ensure compliance with electronic accounting (contabilidad electrónica) submission requirements to sat oversee external accounting firm to ensure timely filing of monthly iva, ist and diot returnssat and government relations serve as primary liaison with sat for audits, inquiries, and general matters manage communications and responses to sat requirements and information requests maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors and legal counsel stay current on changes to mexican tax laws and regulations providing accounting and tax support for customs/duty matters manage two direct reports responsible for accounts receivable collections and cash application oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, cash posting and reconciliation of customer accounts management of complementos de pago for partial or delayed payments monitor and manage outstanding receivables to minimize overdue accounts reviewing customer credit terms in coordination with sales and management assessing high‐risk customers and proactively mitigating collection exposure prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports on a weekly basis, with report out to management and salesgeneral manage and maintain the books and records of mexico legal entity. Responsible for ensuring compliance with mexico tax, accounting, and statutory reporting requirements. Maintain ownership of the mexico p&l, delivering actionable insights and performance analysis to support business objectives.qualifications: minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on vat/tax compliance and accounts receivable. Must be highly proficient in microsoft excel, including advanced functions such as vlookup, pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools. Requires full professional fluency in english, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in both writing and speech. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field. Experience working with a multinational us company. Previous experience working with sap preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
