*position overview*
we are seeking a *manufacturing manager - pump, dredge & excavator systems* to lead operations at our tijuana manufacturing facility.
this role is responsible for managing production of both *eddy pump's industrial pump & dredge systems* and *hawk excavator's heavy equipment assemblies*.
*key responsibilities*
- lead and manage manufacturing operations across *pump, dredge, and excavator product lines*.
- oversee daily assembly schedules, workflow planning, and production optimization.
- manage and mentor teams of technicians, welders, assemblers, and support staff.
- implement *lean manufacturing, six sigma, and continuous improvement practices* to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
- collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate redline drawings, design updates, and new product introductions.
- ensure compliance with *quality assurance standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines*.
- coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage inventory, vendor relations, and materials flow.
- oversee *erp (epicor) system utilization* to improve scheduling, planning, and reporting.
- track and report kpis: productivity, quality, cost savings, and on-time delivery.
- partner with leadership in both companies to align capacity with growth targets and u.s.mexico cross-border operations.
*qualifications*
- bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in *manufacturing or assembly management* (pumps, dredging equipment, heavy equipment, or related industries preferred).
- proven record of *continuous improvement initiatives* in manufacturing environments.
- strong team leadership and personnel management skills.
- ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and assembly documentation.
- experience with *erp systems (epicor preferred)* and production planning.
- bilingual (english/spanish) strongly preferred.
- excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
