viceroy los cabos is seeking an accomplished and inspiring managing director to lead our team and oversee all aspects of this iconic luxury resort (189 keys, four swimming pools, and five restaurants).

As managing director, you will be responsible for delivering extraordinary guest experiences, driving financial success, and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. This role requires a visionary leader with exceptional business acumen, strategic insight, and a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality landscape. You will also serve as an ambassador for the resort, fostering relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and the community.
Responsibilities
strategic leadership: define and execute the resort’s long-term vision in alignment with viceroy hotel group’s mission and objectives. Lead with purpose, innovation, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Guest experience: uphold the resort’s reputation as a premier lifestyle/luxury destination by ensuring every guest experience is seamless, personalized, and memorable. Maintain service excellence across all touchpoints.
Operational excellence: oversee all day-to-day operations, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, spa and wellness, and recreational facilities. Ensure optimal efficiency and resource utilization.
Financial management: develop and manage the annual budget. Monitor performance against financial goals, identify opportunities for growth, and implement strategies that maximize profitability.
Team leadership: recruit, mentor, and empower a high-performing leadership team and staff. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and career development.
Sales & marketing partnership: collaborate with commercial teams to drive occupancy, elevate brand visibility, and attract high-value clientele through creative sales and marketing strategies.
Health, safety & compliance: ensure adherence to local laws, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards. Lead with accountability during crisis management and emergency situations.
Stakeholder engagement: cultivate strong relationships with owners, investors, homeowners associations, local authorities, and community partners. Represent the resort at industry events and public forums.
Qualifications
bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of executive-level leadership experience in lifestyle/luxury resorts or hotels.
Proven success in driving both guest satisfaction and financial results at the highest service levels.
Strong financial acumen with expertise in revenue optimization and cost management.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to create and sustain a strong organizational culture.
Fluency in english and spanish required; additional languages a plus.
Experience working with homeowners associations required.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
Flexibility to travel as necessary.
