production/operations manager (m/w/n)
on location: masterfoam flexsolutions – queretaro, mexico
as production or operations manager, you will be responsible for the administration and control of the production department, maintenance and operations with support from the group ceo, chief financial officer and local management team. You will work closely with group management. You will have both operational and strategic responsibilities. With focus in efficiency, optimization and innovation process.
job description tasks & responsibilities
* responsible for operational conditions, as well as for the implementation of actions and/or measures to achieve compliance with safety, quality, conversion cost, and customer service indicators.
* responsible for managing the production, quality, materials/purchases, and ehs departments to comply with the policies, procedures, and specifications established by the company.
* responsible for the system and compliance with iatf 16949 and iso 14001 standards.
* responsible for implementing the continuous improvement program, leading the autonomous maintenance pillar according to corporate methodology and lean manufacturing system.
* responsible for ensuring compliance with all process and operation procedures in the plant, properly managing the budget, and monitoring the performance of leaders.
* responsible for the administration and control of the utilities, instrumentation, making sure operational availability of the equipment and the proper implementation of preventive maintenance to deliver excellent results in terms of efficiency, productivity, oee, etc.
* responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating all activities related to production within the assigned area. The main objective is to ensure operational efficiency through the effective use of human and financial resources while meeting quality, safety, and delivery standards.
* responsible for monitoring compliance with production planning based on customer requirements, availability of raw materials, and the erp system through odoo.
* this role also promotes team development based on organizational competencies and fosters a safe working environment.
* designs and implement strategies for production aligned with the company's objectives to ensure product reliability and promote continuous improvement.
* key tasks and responsibilities (essential functions) to meet and exceed the key performance indicators (kpi) related to production, safety, quality, deliveries, inventory control, and cost.
* ensure that products are manufactured on time and in accordance with quality requirements and customer delivery deadlines.
* efficiently manage all financial and operational resources within the production area.
* implement and promote the use of continuous improvement tools.
* lead to continuous improvement of operations and problem-solving initiatives.
* coordinate the introduction of new products in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
* plan and control inventory levels and labor productivity.
* promote a strong safety culture and ensure optimal working conditions for all staff.
* develop team members through coaching, training, and competency-based assessments.
successful profile
* minimum 5 years of experience in leadership roles within manufacturing industry.
* solid knowledge of mexican labour law.
* strong communication skills and experience with erp system (e.g. Odoo).
* good and strong communication skills in english and spanish (written and spoken)
* hands-on, detail-oriented and able to work in a teamwork environment.
* familiarity with international reporting is a plus.
* bachelor´s degree in engineering or related field.
