Overview
as an on-site tracking hardware support (oths), you will be the first line of support for genius sports’ hardware infrastructure at sports venues. Your mission is to maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure the correct operation of the dragon tracking systems and video streaming hardware used in elite stadiums. You will be a key point of contact on-site, working independently or with remote support from engineering teams, ensuring our equipment functions correctly before and during live sports events.
key responsibilities
* serve as the first responder for hardware and connectivity issues in stadiums (md and md-1 support).
* perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance, including:
* reseat, replace, or terminate copper and fibre cables
* power cycle/reboot network devices (servers, switches, routers)
* clean, re-angle, and reposition cameras as needed
* connect to networking equipment via laptop for diagnostics (with remote engineering support)
* replace hardware components (e.g., cameras, cables, connectors) with provided equipment
* document actions and issues post-visit via internal reporting systems
* coordinate with stadium staff and remote support teams in a professional manner
* use ladders and access elevated or restricted areas to maintain or inspect equipment
* be on call for urgent match-day (-1) support when required
requirements
technical skills:
* basic knowledge of networking hardware (ethernet/fibre, switches, servers, routers)
* comfortable using laptops for diagnostics and basic configuration
* experience with hand tools, camera mounts, cable management
* familiarity with cable termination (rj45) is a plus
other requirements:
* english proficiency (b1–b2 minimum) to communicate with remote teams and complete documentation
* availability on weekends and during match-day hours (some weekdays may also be required)
* ability to work independently and solve problems under pressure
* comfortable with heights, ladder usage, and following health & safety protocols
* willingness to travel locally/regionally and transport equipment when needed (a vehicle is an asset)
