Overview
the network engineer i is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the corporate data and voice network and ensuring the highest level of availability.
key responsibilities
* configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of voice and data network components across an enterprise wan
* design and implement data and voice network architecture in a secure and cost effective manner
* work closely with voice and data communications vendors to resolve network-related connectivity issues
* support the company’s voice communications platforms
* work with peers to complete team projects while maintaining customer service
* planning and coordination of network changes for office moves/consolidations and new office openings
* planning and provisioning of voice and data communications infrastructure including routers, switches, voice gateways, cabling, circuits, and wireless technologies
requirements
* degree in computer science, information systems, or other related field
* 2+ years of it work experience in network environments performing network engineering, design, planning, implementation, administration and support
* good english communications skills.
* knowledge of voice communications systems including experience with avaya, microsoft teams, ring central, and intelepeer
* able to work well in a team environment
* able to communicate well with users and vendors, as well as other members of the team and department
* able to mentor members of the it service desk, and willing to assist in a support role when necessary
