*what you'll do*
- design, implement, and manage testing processes for passive fiber optic cabling projects.
- oversee all stages of fiber optic polishing and inspection, ensuring rigorous quality standards.
- conduct capacity analysis and optimize the allocation and balancing of test equipment.
- integrate, select, and benchmark new test equipment, including identifying suppliers (both local and global), negotiating pricing, and conducting comparative evaluations.
- analyze test data using tools like minitab and jmp; drive root cause analysis and generate detailed failure reports focused on test equipment issues.
- lead the creation, execution, and documentation of comprehensive test plans for fiber optic systems.
- collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of testing software and procedures.
- actively support 5s, ehs, lean manufacturing, and quality initiatives.
- train and mentor operational staff on standard testing procedures and best practices.
- fulfill all responsibilities and authorities defined in the job's control plans.
*who you are (basic requirements)*
- bachelor's degree in photonics, electronics, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- at least 5 years of experience in test engineering or quality assurance, preferably with fiber optic projects.
- strong knowledge of test software development and data analysis tools (minitab, jmp, etc.).
- proven experience in test equipment procurement, supplier benchmarking, and negotiation.
- practical experience in fiber optic polishing, inspection, and test equipment capacity balancing.
- excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- high-level conversational english (spoken and written).
- demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, generate reports, and drive corrective actions.
- excellent communication skills and a results-oriented mindset.
