an international company is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented transportation & crowd simulation engineer to join our team in monterrey city.
in this role, you will develop high-quality pedestrian and vehicular simulation models to support major infrastructure and event-driven projects. You will analyze crowd behavior, emergency egress, and vehicle flows to ensure smart, safe, and regulation-compliant mobility strategies for large public venues such as stadiums, arenas, exhibitions, and transport hubs.
your expertise in transport simulation, regulatory standards, and interdisciplinary collaboration will be key to the successful delivery of innovative, people-focused mobility solutions.
key responsibilities:
* develop pedestrian and vehicular simulation models using tools such as ptv vissim, legion, massmotion, pathfinder, or similar.
* analyze crowd movement, queueing, egress times, and multimodal integration for large-scale events.
* apply global and event-specific standards, including fifa guidelines, the green guide (uk), nfpa 101/130, ada, and aashto.
* collaborate with civil engineers, architects, planners, to align design intent and operational strategies.
* contribute to crowd management plans, evacuation protocols, and transport management planning.
* prepare technical reports, simulation visuals, and presentations.
* support proposal development and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvements.
skills:
* outstanding verbal and written english skills (c1 level or higher).
* minimum 2 years of experience in transport modeling, traffic engineering, or crowd simulation.
* proficiency in ptv vissim and at least one pedestrian simulation tool (e.g., legion, pathfinder, massmotion, anylogic).
* familiarity with international design standards (fifa, nfpa, ada, aashto, ite).
* experience in technical modeling for vehicle access, egress, and emergency movement scenarios.
* excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, urban mobility planning or a related field (master's preferred).
* experience working on stadiums, theme parks, exhibitions, or large-scale public venues is highly desirable.
* working knowledge of gis, autocad, or bim coordination tools is a strong advantage.
