As a quality manager you will utilizes sound technical knowledge of materials, processes, and products to manage the company's laboratory-based qa department.
the role requires an understanding of the business and the integrated management system in order to provide onsite support.
the role has a responsibility in providing high quality and timely support to customer service, the sales team, and the manufacturing staff of the organization.
*what you'll be doing*:
- supervise the qa lab and all designated employees
- work closely with the local manufacturing team, company's product specialists, and other departments and company locations as needed
- ensure timely, accurate qa measurements on incoming, in process, and finished products
- ensure that coa's are prepared in a timely fashion to allow shipment of product on schedule
- maintain all qa laboratory facilities in calibrated good working order
- maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- maintaining accurate and organized records for the quality department
- facilitate training for existing and new members of the quality assurance team
- prepare and maintain quality plans and fmeas
- verify inspections and tests are in accordance with control plans
- define workmanship standards and maintain responsibility for outgoing quality
- coordinate and follow up on in-house and customer corrective actions
- disposition nonconforming product
- providing a high energy ongoing internal auditing function to ensure that iso standards are a companywide culture, which is maintained at a constant level throughout the year.
- formally leading a preventative program to identify and prioritize areas of weakness and then leading improvement projects to address the problems.
- reporting integrated management system measurables at the ims & management review monthly meetings:
- maintaining internal and external iso audit results
*what you need to succeed*:
*requirements*:
- fluent in english and spanish
- associates degree in quality or science field
- 5 years experience working in a laboratory position in the polymer industry
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- proficiency with the ms office suite of programs
- understanding of iso and automotive standards
*preferred skills*
- bs degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer technology or polymer engineering
- prior supervisory and/or leadership experience
- basic understanding of statistical methods
- familiarity with the compounding, processing and testing of polyolefins
- experience in writing internal technical reports
- formal training as a lead auditor for iso
