*position overview*:
the manufacturing engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, high quality, and cost-effectiveness. This team member will possess strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
*responsibilities*:
1. *process development and optimization*:
- develop and optimize manufacturing processes to achieve production goals, improve quality, and reduce costs.
- implement lean manufacturing principles and practices to enhance efficiency & productivity.
- design and layout manufacturing workstations, equipment, and processes to ensure optimal workflow.
2. *equipment and tooling management*:
- specify and procure manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- oversee the installation, calibration, and maintenance of production equipment.
- work with suppliers to ensure equipment and tooling meet specifications and standards.
3. *production support*:
- provide technical support to the production team to resolve manufacturing issues.
- conduct root cause analysis of production problems and implement corrective actions.
4. *continuous improvement*:
- lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
5. *project management*:
- manage manufacturing projects from concept through implementation.
- develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. *health and safety*:
- ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the manufacturing environment.
- implement safety improvements to reduce risks and prevent accidents.
*requirements*:
- bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- proven experience (5+ years) in manufacturing, preferably a tier 1 automotive supplier.
- strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as assembly, molding, and automation.
- proficiency in cad software (e.g., autocad, solidworks).
- experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, and other methodologies.
- excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- proficiency in microsoft office suite and production management software.
- *proficiency in spanish and english languages (written and verbal)*
