about the role
the director of operations is responsible for leading manufacturing performance across production, maintenance, and plant operations to ensure operational excellence and safe, reliable output.
this role acts as the primary owner of plant operational results, translating company strategy into disciplined execution, scalable processes, and measurable performance improvements. The role partners closely with quality, ehs, hr, finance, engineering, and supply chain to deliver on company goals and customer commitments.
key responsibilities
* lead overall manufacturing operations including production, maintenance, and plant performance.
* ensure safe operations and full compliance with osha and internal safety standards.
* drive operational excellence through lean practices, structured problem solving, and daily management discipline.
* deliver on production commitments through strong capacity planning, productivity, and operational stability.
* ensure cost discipline and alignment with manufacturing budgets and financial targets.
* develop operational teams and organizational capability in partnership with hr.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, operations management, or related field. / mba or advanced degree preferred.
* +7 years of progressive leadership experience in complex manufacturing environments.
* proven track record leading multi-functional operations teams (production, engineering, maintenance).
* demonstrated experience driving safety performance, operational stability, and productivity improvements.
* experience operating in fast-paced, high-demand environments with variable production cycles.
