The jr. Hr business partner plays a pivotal role in supporting the entire operations team at our tijuana plant, with a focus on developing leaders and retaining top talent. Located in tijuana, mx, this position involves close collaboration with leaders of the operations teams, including plant director, production, warehouse, supply chain, logistics, and quality managers onsite.
this role demands a strong understanding of high-performance expectations, vapotherm's mission-driven culture, and the ability to engage deeply with teammates at all levels. Fluency in spanish and english is required, with written and verbal communication skills exceeding c1 level.
key responsibilities:
hr leadership
- lead hr-related objectives on behalf of the operations team
- partner with shelter hr representative and vapomex nurse to provide direction and support
leadership development
- create and execute development plans in partnership with leaders
- monitor, assess, and hold leaders accountable for results of operations team members
hr support
- serve as go-to hr resource for the entire operations team, covering all personnel needs
- investigate employee relations situations and document accordingly
- maintain employee personnel files
critical processes
- coordinate and lead critical hr processes: performance reviews, comp adjustments, talent reviews, training & development, etc.
- coach peers and leaders on performance conversations and conflict resolution
talent management
- work with leaders to establish methods and strategies for retention of top talent
- support organizational change initiatives and related communication plans
- partner with leaders to build talent pipeline, succession plans, and organizational design plans
additional responsibilities
- assist with comp analysis and tracking
- oversee development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training for the operations team
- involvement in social committee (event planning, engagement initiatives, competitions, etc)
- sit on appropriate committees like safety, ehs, compliance, etc., as needed
- be point of contact for external partners such as shelter, landscaping, janitorial, etc.
requirements
2+ years hr experience in a manufacturing/maquiladora setting, preferably with a shelter company. The ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-through-challenges environment. Proficient knowledge of microsoft office products and outlook is required. Strong communication and organization skills are essential, especially when handling sensitive information. Project management experience is a plus. A strong sense of integrity and passion is required for this position, which involves making decisions on behalf of the organization. The ideal candidate will excel in working with people as well as systems and structure.
