The sr. Workday functional consultant (workday hcm&org, absences & time off and time tracking) enables the hr function and hr strategic value partners (svps) to make informed, data-driven business decisions by delivering timely, relevant hr analytics, reporting, and technology solutions that support workforce strategy, talent acquisition, and human capital management.this role acts as a strategic technology advisor, providing expert consulting, hr technology program and policy design, and identification of best practices across global hr processes. The consultant becomes a technology reference professional, leading highly complex technology initiatives and working collaboratively to design, develop, and deliver innovative solutions that drive high performance and business value.key roles and responsibilities- responsible for managing and leading at least one of the following modules: workday hcm & org, absences & time off, and time tracking - act as subject matter expert (sme) and proactively advise hr strategic value partners and hr leadership - lead workday hr operations, ensuring standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement of global hr processes - manage changes and small-to-medium projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering through deployment - identify business needs in collaboration with local and global teams, performing analysis, impact assessments, and solution design - partner with workday client partners, global process owners, and local hr hubs to highlight hr functional processes, identify trends, and propose enhanced functionality - document functional business requirements, troubleshoot application issues, and promote proactive use of hris capabilities to meet business needs and improve hr operations - analyze business requirements and design, develop, or modify solutions to ensure effective storage, retrieval, and reporting of employee data - provide hands-on functional design and configuration, including design, build, configuration, and testing of workday solutions - deliver front-line support, troubleshooting, and user training on workday functionality - plan and test system enhancements, troubleshoot production issues, and retest fixes - document standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and drive process improvements - recommend best practices and solutions aligned with the latest workday releases and features - resolve incidents raised by key users in a timely and effective manner - manage a queue of workday cases, prioritizing based on severity and business impact - foster and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners - operate effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and customer servicemain qualifications, skills and abilities- bachelor's degree in hr, information technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience - 9–12 years of experience maintaining human capital management systems - minimum 5 years of workday experience, with at least 3 years specializing in one or more of the following: workday hcm & org, absences & time off, time tracking - previous experience with other hris platforms such as peoplesoft, sap, successfactors, or oracle hcm - strong functional knowledge and hands-on experience with workday hcm & org, absences & time off, and time tracking - experience providing hands-on support in security, report writing, calculated fields, and eibs - advanced proficiency in microsoft word, excel, access, and powerpoint - fully bilingual english/spanish; portuguese is a plus - experience managing multiple projects, preferably in cloud-based environments - ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of integrity and confidentiality - strong organizational skills with high attention to detail - ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment - strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels and cultures - demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to change and operate with poise, tact, and diplomacy - team-oriented, proactive, and results-driven with a strong work ethic
