the transportation coordinator will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods and personnel, including the scheduling of shipments, coordination of delivery times, and monitoring of the delivery process to ensure the timely arrival of goods. They must also maintain records of shipments, contact vendors and suppliers, and interact with customers.
Main activities
- manage transportation resources, ensuring they are operated efficiently and cost-effectively
- coordinate the scheduling of transportation services
- track and monitor the delivery of goods and services
- plan routes and maintain accurate records of transportation costs and activities
- ensure compliance with safety regulations and applicable laws
- maintain and update the transportation database
- experience with transportation software
*requirements*:
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience
- knowledge of local and regional transportation systems
- ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks at once
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work with a variety of people
