Risk management & emergency response coordinator
the risk management & emergency response coordinator is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks in the ammonia production plant, developing, implementing and coordinating emergency response plans.
the objective is to ensure the safety of employees, facilities and the environment during emergencies while complying with local and international industrial safety regulations.
responsibilities
risk management and industrial safety:
identify and assess operational, chemical, fire and explosion risks within the plant.
develop and implement mitigation strategies with a focus on ammonia production and handling.
emergency planning and response:
prepare and maintain comprehensive emergency plans, including evacuation protocols, ammonia leak management and fire control procedures.
coordinate and supervise regular emergency drills, both internally and with external authorities.
ensure availability of personal protective equipment, communication systems and first aid kits.
emergency response leadership:
lead the response during an emergency by coordinating internal teams (security, maintenance, operations) and external teams (firefighters, local authorities).
qualifications
education & experience:
bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, chemical engineering, industrial safety or a related field.
minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management and emergency response within chemical or manufacturing industries.
knowledge of applicable industrial safety and environmental regulations.
knowledge, skills & abilities:
understanding of industrial processes, hazardous materials handling and risk mitigation techniques.
ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety procedures.
strong leadership, decision‐making and crisis management skills.
proficiency with microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint).
effective written and verbal communication skills in emergency situations.
certifications & licenses:
certification in industrial safety or risk management (preferred).
training in first aid and rescue (desirable).
driver's license (desirable).
