role summary:
we are seeking a sales operations manager to build and lead our inside sales and customer service functions from the ground up.
this is a pivotal new role in our company, aimed at transforming a reactive, transactional support group into a proactive, customer-focused team that enhances the sales engine.
you will define scalable processes, build the right capabilities, and instill a commercial mindset across a currently operationally-focused group.
key responsibilities:
- team leadership & development
- build, coach, and manage a team of inside sales and customer service representatives.
- assess current team capabilities; identify gaps and create individual development plans.
- instill a customer-first and sales-supportive culture.
- define clear kpis and performance management routines.
- process design & execution
- define and implement streamlined, scalable workflows for: quote preparation, order intake and
follow-up, lead management, customer communication and issue resolution
- establish service-level agreements (slas) for internal responsiveness and customer interactions.
- lead adoption of crm and erp systems to support transparency and efficiency.
- inside sales operations
- support the front-line sales team by managing quote turnaround and proposal consistency.
- drive qualification and prioritization of inbound requests and leads.
- collaborate with product management, engineering, and production for accurate and timely responses.
- monitor funnel health and identify bottlenecks or breakdowns.
- customer service operations
- elevate the customer experience by ensuring professional and timely responses to inquiries, orders, complaints, and post-sales support.
- build metrics for customer satisfaction, order accuracy, and resolution times.
- manage key customer accounts for service excellence in coordination with account managers.
- cross-functional collaboration
- act as the operational bridge between sales, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
- ensure the team understands how their performance impacts sales outcomes and customer relationships.
- support sales leadership in preparing dashboards, forecasts, and reports.
your profile:
- 5+ years of experience in sales operations, inside sales, or customer service leadership—preferably in industrial/b2b manufacturing.
- demonstrated ability to transform or build teams.
- process-oriented with proven experience in mapping, designing, and implementing scalable workflows.
- strong understanding of commercial sales cycles and customer engagement best practices.
- solid experience working with erp and crm systems.
- hands-on leadership style with high accountability and follow-through.
nice to have:
- familiarity with connectors, harnesses, or technical industrial products.
