remote bookkeeper
to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and highly experienced with quickbooks online, with a strong background in project-based accounting.
job overview
the remote bookkeeper will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate project tracking, and deliver timely financial reports. This role requires precision, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. You will support the director of finance directly and play a key role in monitoring the financial health of multiple construction projects.
key responsibilities
manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks in quickbooks online
categorize and record all transactions with accuracy
perform daily/weekly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts
monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
generate and analyze financial reports (p&l, balance sheet, cash flow)
track project budgets, costs, and job costing for multiple construction projects
ensure all transactions are classified properly to the correct project/entity
prepare collections reports and assist with client billing
maintain organized and accurate financial documentation
meet monthly deadlines for reconciliations and reporting
requirements:
qualifications
2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
strong experience with
quickbooks online
(required)
solid understanding of accounting principles (a/p, a/r, reconciliations, journal entries)
familiarity with project-based accounting and job costing (preferred)
experience in construction, real estate, or project-driven businesses (a plus)
proficiency with
microsoft excel
(required)
high attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote setting
strong communication skills (english required; fluency doesn't need to be perfect)
technical requirements
reliable computer and high-speed internet connection
ability to work from a quiet, professional environment
comfortable with remote tools (slack, zoom, google workspace)
