Position summary:
provides analysis and reports on complex financial information. Plans and projects financial information using knowledge of advanced financial theory and systems. Prepares recommendations for all levels of management. Acts as a mentor to financial analysts and cost accountants.
essential responsibilities:
1. develops, maintains, and provides insightful financial information to support central finance and senior management.
2. assists the finance manager in preparing the annual operating plan (aop) and monthly financial forecasts.
3. provides financial analysis to support monthly operational reviews with line organizations.
4. guides the department’s financial analysts and cost accountants in developing and maintaining pc-based analytical tools.
5. develops successful working relationships with other ae departments, including operations and general accounting.
6. conducts special projects providing creative and insightful interpretation of business issues from a quantitative standpoint.
7. conducts regular presentations to management.
8. serves as a contact for internal and external audits.
work environment:
works in a standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment. Some travel may be required.
skills:
1. ability to work across all functional organizations and levels of personnel.
2. ability to tailor financial information for various organizational levels.
3. experience with financial software, preferably an integrated erp system.
4. excellent pc skills, including advanced proficiency in ms-office, primarily excel and access. General knowledge of database applications is preferred.
experience:
essential: 4-7 years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment.
desirable: previous financial analyst experience, sap experience.
education:
essential: bachelor's degree in business administration or similar.
desirable: master's degree in business administration, cpa or cma designation.
