primary responsibilities:

core competencies / requirements:
* 5+ years of experience as an it network engineer (global experience preferred)
* bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
* networking knowledge: understanding network protocols, such as tcp/ip, udp, dns, dhcp and vpn.
* hardware proficiency: experience with network hardware, including routers, palo alto and watchguard firewalls, extreme networks switches and wireless access points.
* network design and architecture: ability to design and implement network infrastructure that meets organizational needs.
* security: knowledge of network security principles and practices, including firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network access control (nac), sase solutions, prisma access from palo alto networks is a plus.
* performance monitoring: ability to use network monitoring tools to assess and optimize network performance, like management portals and checkmk
* scripting and automation: familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., python, bash) to automate network tasks.
* operating systems: proficiency with various operating systems, particularly those used in network environments (e.g., windows server, linux). Knowledge of itil frameworks and best practices.
* strong analytical abilities to diagnose and resolve network issues.
* ability to think critically and implement effective solutions quickly.
* excellent verbal and written communication skills (english is a must) to interact with end users and provide clear instructions.
