About the role
this role supports the day‑to‑day execution and readiness of press shop operations, contributing to capacity, quality, and process readiness for mcs, pilot, and sop builds. The project engineer works closely with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, logistics, quality, suppliers, and finance), assisting in the transition from legacy operations to the new manufacturing process, while building technical and project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
key responsibilities
* support the validation of press shop capacity and feasibility to meet production demand.
* assist in executing capacity readiness actions aligned with demand forecasts.
* participate in press shop readiness activities for mcs, pilot, and sop milestones.
* assist in layout updates and process flow changes, including basic assembly sequence adjustments.
* support coordination of inventory levels and internal logistics activities for press shop operations.
* track and support raw material availability for runoff, mcs, pilot, and sop builds.
* support tooling (die) tracking and documentation, both internally and with suppliers.
* assist in die runoff activities, including data collection and follow‑up of action items.
* support quality documentation related to runoff activities (ppap exposure desirable).
* assist with phase‑in / phase‑out activities between legacy and avatar dies.
* support sap and ariba data entry and reporting, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
* assist in tracking program expenses and forecasts under guidance of senior engineers or project leaders.
requirements
* bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, automation, mechatronic engineering, or related field.
* 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or operations engineering (internships or co‑ops acceptable).
* basic to intermediate english written skills.
* basic understanding of press shop or manufacturing operations.
* introductory knowledge of quality processes (ppap is a plus).
* exposure to sap, ariba, or other erp systems.
