Tax accountant coordinator
about the role
at byd mexico, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive tax accountant coordinator to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring full tax compliance, supporting reporting processes, and coordinating direct and indirect tax obligations in accordance with mexican regulations and corporate policies.
key responsibilities
* ensure timely and accurate compliance with federal, state, and local tax obligations in mexico.
* prepare, review, and coordinate monthly and annual tax filings, including vat (iva), isr, withholding taxes, and local payroll taxes.
* monitor and reconcile tax accounts within the erp system to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
* support tax audits, sat requirements, and information requests from tax authorities.
* coordinate the preparation and review of electronic invoices (cfdi) and tax documentation.
* work closely with accounting, payroll, ap, and ar teams to ensure tax compliance across transactions.
* support tax planning initiatives, risk assessments, and process improvements.
* maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in mexican tax legislation and compliance requirements .
* collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors as required.
* prepare tax reports, reconciliations, and management presentations for leadership review.
requirements
* bachelor’s degree in accounting. Desirable complementary formation in taxes.
* minimum 7 years of experience in tax compliance, tax accounting, 3 of them in a tax coordination role. Lower or different experience will be not consider.
* advanced english proficiency is a must, this position reports directly to a global team.
* strong knowledge of mexican tax regulations, including isr, iva, cfdi, sat requirements, and local taxes.
* advanced eperience working with sap
