We are expanding our manufacturing site in mexico! As an extrusion and molding engineer, you will support the organization by ensuring that our manufacturing site operates efficiently to meet growth expectations. You will excel in your daily tasks and experience a dynamic work environment.
objective:
to provide engineering support for extrusion and molding processes, ensuring product quality and efficiency. Responsibilities include overseeing equipment operation, troubleshooting, process improvements, and supporting new product and equipment integration into manufacturing.
responsibilities and essential functions:
* set up and operate extrusion and molding machines to produce high-quality components.
* monitor and adjust production processes to maintain specifications.
* conduct regular inspections for equipment maintenance and safety.
* troubleshoot technical issues during production.
* collaborate to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
* develop and implement process improvements and optimize machine settings.
* ensure safety and quality standards are met.
* train and mentor junior staff.
* stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
* conduct engineering tests such as gr&r, svs, and validation protocols.
* utilize assembly documentation like schematics, boms, and testing procedures.
* advise on scheduling and staffing.
* provide guidance and leadership to technicians.
* work across functions and management levels to achieve results.
* drive quality and action-oriented results.
* be proactive, motivated, and self-directed.
authority:
* reject change orders that do not follow procedures or cgmp practices.
performance criteria:
* knowledge of npi processes (preferred).
* ability to interpret technical instructions and data.
* experience in cad data interpretation and testing.
qualifications / education:
* associate's degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
* 1-3 years of relevant experience.
* strong knowledge of extrusion and molding processes and materials.
* experience in the medical device industry (preferred).
* excellent communication skills in english.
work environment:
this is a manufacturing facility with potential exposure to noise, chemicals, fumes, and machinery, managed according to safety standards.
