role overview
the hse engineer ii will conduct tasks related to legal compliance, global requirements, and support local site demands. This person leads the site hse program at honeywell monterrey, providing leadership and technical support to continually improve all aspects of the site’s hse performance. Demonstrates a proactive health and safety management system and plays a key role within the health, safety, environment & facilities (hse&f) function. Responsible for leading activities and performance metrics, establishing strong relationships with site leadership and employees.

key responsibilities
* integrate hse processes and safe work practices into daily operations.
* implement hse&f standards complying with regulatory and company requirements.
* conduct audits and assessments, identify non-compliance, and implement corrective actions.
* lead hse initiatives and continuous improvement efforts as a business partner to support site goals.
* drive engagement through management, leadership, employee involvement, risk assessments, hazard prevention, and hse training.
* manage health and safety initiatives to improve program performance.
* provide new hire and recurring employee hse training.
* submit annual federal, state, and local reports.
* conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for incidents.
* identify emerging issues and track compliance obligations.
* support management of change with hse impact assessments.
* maintain hse documentation and records management systems.
* analyze hse data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
* prepare and present reports to management, customers, and regulatory agencies.
minimum qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
* at least 2 years of experience in hse engineering.
* knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
preferred qualifications
* advanced engineering degree.
* experience in the industrial automation industry.
* strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
