Purpose statement: provide leadership and project support directly with a factory, mentoring and coaching to all key people in the factory and training for lean and six sigma tools. Provide and ensures that all the objectives of the factory and assigned projects and the metric of its department, executer and developer of cultural enablers of the site, leader of the production floor transformation and vsm creation. Collaborate with site leadership to create a continuous improvement culture.

Key job accountabilities:

- continuous improvement: drive continuous improvement into all areas of the business: drive, facilitate, and support continuous improvement activity. Act as a catalyst to drive continuous improvement mentality into areas of involvement and overall business. Contribute to the ongoing development of continuous improvement strategy and planning. Ensure that all continuous improvement activities align with continuous improvement strategy. Facilitate continuous improvement activity in all areas of involvement. Provide leadership and support to ensure that improvement teams are productive. Ensure full participation of all team members.
- create lean culture: delivery of lean/continuous improvement training: design and deliver lean/continuous improvement training events and activities. Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of training activities and implement relevant improvements. Carry out certification/re-certification as required. Develop necessary training documentation and procedures. Maintain continuous improvement skills database. Provide training statistics as required. Continually review current training modules/documentation and implement improvements. Delivery of all lean training modules (periodic delivery).
- customer satisfaction: drive customer satisfaction in all areas of accountability: understand customer (internal or external) requirements. Identify and drive waste reduction from customer value streams in all areas of exposure. Respond to the customer in a timely manner. Display a "voice of customer" mentality.
- deploy lean processes: provide sme coverage in lean sigma tools and techniques to include: value stream transformation/mapping, 5s/workplace organization/visual systems, flow manufacturing, smed/changeover optimization, pull systems, tpm, line balancing, poke yoke/mistake proofing, problem solving, pdca (plan, do, check, act), advanced quality improvement tools, fmea, capability studies, measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, and other tools as identified.

Additional accountabilities:

- facilitate production factory team in lean six sigma.
- ownership of factory ci tracker board.
- leader to accept or reject all projects generated from all people in the site.
- facilitate and mentorship of all factory in lean six sigma training.
- ownership of communication of lean six sigma program to customers including project examples and results that benefit our customers.
- ensure all factories alignment to site strategy.
- lead site-specific, cross-functional projects as required.
- active participation in best practice sharing across site and region.
- minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 10%).
- additional duties as assigned.

Education/experience qualifications:

- a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- five (5) years of related experience is required; six (6) or more years of related experience is preferred.
- demonstrated mastery of lean and six sigma concepts.
- formal training in lean concepts and certification as a black belt desired and will be required to maintain the position.
- leadership skills and an ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- knowledge of minitab, mes, erp, and other it tools a plus.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

work environment:

- the work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.
