About the position:
ensures a company adheres to international import/export laws, regulations, and tariffs to facilitate seamless cross-border transactions and avoid legal penalties.
main activities:
monitor and implement compliance with international, national, and local trade laws
immex knowledge
prepare, review, and maintain accurate customs declarations, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
assign correct harmonized tariff schedule (hts) codes to products to ensure proper duty payments.
conduct internal audits and identify potential risks related to sanctions, embargoed countries, or restricted parties.
act as the primary contact for customs brokers and freight forwarders
education:
bachelor's degree in international business, supply chain, law, or a related field.
experience:
previous experience in customs, import/export operations, or logistics is often required.
technical skills:
proficiency in enterprise resource planning (erp) systems (e.g., sap gts) and microsoft office, particularly excel.
