using established systems and procedures, provide support in the preparation of documents required for foreign and mexican customs. Additionally, assist in the department's administrative tasks.
*main functions*:
- control the report of warehouse inventory entries in the usa and generate the revision order for machinery and equipment.
*educational requirements*:
- bachelor’s degree or technical studies in foreign trade, customs, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
*experience required*:
- 3 to 5 years in customs compliance and immex experience.
*qualifications*:
- advanced microsoft excel skills
- experience with customs valuation and hts classification
- strong data analysis skills using tools like alteryx, power bi, or pivottables
- strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- bachelor’s degree in a business, finance, or technical field
- natural problem-solving skills to own processes and maintain required data flows
- critical fact-finding and analysis capabilities
- demonstrated independence and ability to work with mínimal supervision
- experience with international customs procedures (classification and valuation)
- extensive knowledge of immex compliance programs, including warehouse inventory reporting and machinery/equipment revision orders
*responsibilities*:
this position is within the customs & indirect tax department and focuses on supporting regional (americas) import compliance initiatives. The role emphasizes developing and maintaining a compliant, efficient, and optimal customs import program and immex business operations.
- provide global import hs classification support for chip and hardware products
- ensure business groups comply with global trade, immex, and regulatory requirements
- support global import compliance initiatives
- work closely with product management, engineering, r&d, and other global trade colleagues to drive jurisdiction and classification processes throughout the product development lifecycle
- drive continuous improvement in import compliance processes and technology
*preferred skills and qualifications*:
- advanced skills in microsoft excel
- familiarity with customs valuation and hts classification
- expertise in data analytics with tools like alteryx, power bi, or pivottables
- strong communication abilities
- experience in the semiconductor or consumer electronics industries
- background in finance or accounting
- proficiency with trade compliance systems
- ability to manipulate large data sets for critical analysis to aid senior management
- proficiency in hts/schedule b classification
