* must have skills*:
- implement and manage automated backup solutions for aws services like ec2, rds, s3, and ebs.
- ensure data retention policies are enforced across cloud services.
- manage patching schedules for aws based systems and ensure compliance with security policies.
- automate os level patching using tools like aws systems manager.
- ensure the latest security patches are applied to all instances and resources.
- analyze system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.
- perform deep-dive troubleshooting and root cause analysis on issues related to the operating system (linux/windows) running on aws ec2 instances.
- manage and maintain os-level configurations and services such as dns, ssh, and firewalls.
- analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks at the os level, including cpu, memory, and disk issues.
- manage iam roles, policies, and permissions to enforce the principle of least privilege.
- perform regular audits of iam roles, policies, and users for security compliance.
- manage virtual private clouds (vpcs), subnets, security groups, and route tables.
- document all infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- generate and present regular reports on system performance, security compliance, and cost efficiency.
- use aws config and other tools to ensure resource compliance with tagging policies.
*nice to have skills*:
- configure and manage aws networking services such as direct connect, and transit gateway.
- implement and manage aws security services such as aws waf, aws shield, and aws security hub.
- develop and maintain infrastructure as code (iac) using tools like aws cloudformation, terraform, or aws cdk.
- experience with multicloud environments (azure, gcp).
- knowledge of serverless architectures (aws lambda, api gateway).
- experience with containerization technologies (ecs, eks, docker).
- continuously monitor and optimize aws resource usage and costs.
*key qualifications*:
- experience: 5+ years of experience in *aws cloud infrastructure management.*:
- certifications: aws certified solutions architect (associate/professional) or aws certified sysops administrator.
