A leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead operations at one of its key facilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about shaping workplace culture, driving continuous improvement, and delivering strong business performance.Duties/Responsibilities:Analyze Culture & Leadership- Shape and reinforce a positive plant culture by modeling desired behaviors and demonstrating respect for all team members.- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and staff to enhance their skills, performance, and leadership capabilities.- Lead shift-start huddles and conduct periodic Gemba Walks to identify issues, promote visual management, and drive continuous improvement.- Conduct performance evaluations for supervisory staff and address performance issues in collaboration with Human Resources.- Partner with HR to interview, select, and onboard candidates for all roles within the facility.Safety & Compliance- Ensure all employees follow safety measures and company policies, fostering a strong safety-first culture.- Provide direction and resources to achieve plant safety and environmental performance goals.- Develop, implement, and evaluate safety programs, policies, and initiatives to minimize risks and ensure regulatory compliance.- Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.- Conduct weekly safety audits and ensure all incidents are promptly addressed, thoroughly investigated, and reported.Operations & Continuous Improvement- Lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives, including ownership of the CI Newspaper process.- Promote employee engagement in problem-solving, innovation, and process enhancements.- Model and enforce 5S standards, safety practices, and operational best practices.- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements to ensure operational transparency and performance tracking.Financial & Resource Management- Develop, manage, and monitor monthly and annual budgets.- Ensure material inventory levels meet production requirements for the next 180 days.- Allocate resources effectively to achieve production and safety goals.Maintenance & Support- Assist with maintenance and repairs of machinery to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.- Approve and log vacation requests for supervisory and support staff.- Handle all other tasks as requested or assigned by senior management.Skills/Experience Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, or plant management roles.- Ability to communicate conversationally in English, both verbally and in writing.- Proven track record of successfully leading safety programs, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational performance improvements.- Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and material resource planning.- Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies strongly preferred.- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams.Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a detailed resume outlining relevant experience and leadership accomplishments.
