This role is pivotal in driving physical design innovation for industrial tools, equipment, and production systems. The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end design process—from identifying on-the-ground needs to developing and implementing cutting-edge, user-centered physical solutions.this is an exciting opportunity for a creative, technically proficient designer to influence the future of nysonian's manufacturing capabilities through smart, functional, and ergonomic product innovations.key responsibilitiesconduct in-depth user research, ergonomic studies, and workflow analysis within the plant to identify design improvement opportunities.lead the ideation, conceptualization, and development of innovative physical products, tools, and mechanical systems used in manufacturing.create and iterate 3d models, technical drawings, and design specifications using industry-standard cad tools (e.g., solidworks, autocad).collaborate with cross-functional teams—engineering, production, safety, and quality assurance—to ensure technical feasibility and operational alignment.develop and test functional prototypes using rapid prototyping technologies and conduct field trials to validate performance and user experience.apply principles of design for manufacturing (dfm) and design for assembly (dfa) to ensure cost-effective, scalable, and production-ready solutions.maintain accurate design documentation, including boms, change logs, and compliance records.stay abreast of emerging trends in materials, industrial design, and factory automation technologies.required qualificationsbachelor's degree in industrial design, product design, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.minimum of 4 years of experience in physical product design, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.advanced proficiency in cad software (solidworks, autodesk, or similar) and 3d rendering tools.proven experience in prototyping, mechanical testing, and design validation.strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics.ability to synthesize technical requirements, user insights, and operational goals into cohesive design solutions.excellent communication and collaboration skills.fluency in spanish; working knowledge of english is strongly preferred.preferred qualificationsexperience with lean manufacturing, kaizen, or six sigma methodologies.familiarity with iso standards and safety compliance in industrial settings.hands-on fabrication or workshop experience is a plus.experience designing for heavy equipment, mechanical tooling, or assembly line systems.
