we have an exciting position open at aptar querétaro: analyst ii internal auditor, reporting to the americas, internal audit supervisor.
this position is based in queretaro, méxico.
this role is based in aptar mexico-queretaro, one of aptar's gbs (integral business services) centers to leverage synergies in working with other departments housed in the same center.
responsibilities
- develop and maintain a strong internal control environment and assist with executing and testing the company's annual sarbanes‐oxley (sox) assessment.
- assist risk‑based audits covering operational, financial, and compliance audits.
- assist sox / internal controls testing during different testing cycles and phases.
- work with various functional personnel to ensure that internal controls are adequately monitored.
- support the development of corrective actions for audit findings.
- maintain a list of key process owners and key control owners by location.
- assist with operational audits as needed.
qualifications
- bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or comparable qualifications).
- 3 years of professional experience, preferably in accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, external and/or internal audit.
- knowledge of financial statement risks, sox compliance requirements, and internal control best practices.
skills & abilities
- ability to identify and evaluate the risks in internal structure and processes and make recommendations to mitigate such identified risks.
- strong capability in excel.
- erp reporting systems knowledge/experience (e.g. Sap, epm/bpc, b4p) is preferred.
- effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, streamline work processes, and interface with organizational management and external auditors.
- self‑motivated and delivers results under time pressure while maintaining high standards of excellence and attention to detail.
- ability to work within a multi‑cultural environment.
- fluency in written and spoken english (additional language skills are desirable).
- familiarity with sarbanes oxley, especially the practice in americas region.
