Overview
the plant manager is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing operations at the nogales assembly plant, including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, personnel staffing requirements, and equipment. The person in this position will be a strong driver for a safe and quality environment, customer focus, continuous improvement, productivity and 5s. The ideal candidate must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence and meeting company strategies and objectives.
responsibilities
* provide leadership to continuously improve a culture of safety
* p&l responsibility for the nogales assembly plant
* be a strategic thinker and have a proven track record of operational excellence, including utilization of lean manufacturing techniques and tools
* lead the involvement of quality, production, maintenance, engineering, and materials personnel in a team approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
* ensure new injection mold qualifications are successfully implemented
* coordinate resources to support new product development and special projects
* have a good working knowledge and help implement world-class continuous improvement practices
* drive the 5s deployment throughout the facility
* be a leader and motivator in a productive and collaborative working environment
* foster creativity and innovation within the manufacturing team
* act as change agent to improve bottom line performance through lean / 6-sigma manufacturing techniques including, but not limited to: managing for daily improvement (mdi), adherence to plan, standard work, 5s, smed, root cause analysis, spc, doe, kaizen, etc.
* execute corporate and strategic plan goals including safety improvement, quality improvement, customer service level achievement, inventory turns, and supply-chain flexibility
* lead continuous improvement projects for productivity improvement and cost reduction
qualifications
minimum qualifications:
* s. in a technical or business discipline from an accredited university
* at least ten years' experience in operations management role
* excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and technical skills, particularly with respect to a manufacturing environment
* fully bilingual – english and spanish and experience with manufacturing in mexico
* experience with tools such as lean manufacturing, 6-sigma tools, spc, kanban, 5s, kaizen
* history of increasing responsibilities with proven track record of achieving good results
desired qualifications:
* experience with high volume assembly operations
* previous experience as plant manager or higher role
* mba or other master's degree
